Energy! It's an important theme to which we dedicate substantial effort to contribute and help our partnerships with the best insurance solutions. Our first concern is the design of specific wording-"tailor-made"-for each reality, with a particular focus on exclusions, because, claims, and their fast and correct resolution are the target and the key-point of our work. From our point of view, the best company's policy on insurance and risk management works from the first step (i.e. even in project). So, we are prepared to support this scope of work with our expertise during:
- Project and Financing phase, with the conception of insurance schedules for turnkey contracts and discussion with the lender's advisers.
- Construction phase, with our active participation in the field to validate the insurance covers which we put in force.
- Operation phase, with periodic monitoring to guarantee the correct and effective cover, after provisional reception-"take over"-and the maintenance for the entire life period of the energy power plant.
The environment is a very important theme and we are very close to discovering renewable energy. Therefore, we are constantly being updated with new technologies; for example, the floating wind turbines (offshore) or thermal solar "CSP- Concentrated Solar Power". We are conscious that renewable energy is not enough to replace fossil energy. All players must create a share platform with the correct balance, to make an efficient management and an efficient economic suns table possible. Based on that point of view, we present the different type of risks between these two energy resources. For each, we have a simple comparative analysis, as follow:
Prospect- Fossil - Gross and heavy equipments like drill platforms or drilling pipes with 2.000 m - 3.000 m long
- Renewable - Small equipments, like wave-rider (wave energy) or anemometers (wind energy)
Construction Period
- Fossil - Long periods (2-5 years)
- Renewable - Short periods (An average of 1 year)
Dimensions of Buildings/Equipments
- Fossil - Several square-acres of implantation, with complex infrastructures
- Renewable - Miscellaneous realities, like a photovoltaic farm (high square meters of implantation but simple structures), wind farm (low square meters of implantation but high structures), or biomass power plant (very similar, with a fossil power plant but lower dimension)
Energy Transportation
- Fossil - Big vessels, long pipelines (offshore 80-100 km), and cistern trucks.
- Renewable - Electrical cables (Electrical Grids), except biodiesel that is very similar to fossil-cistern trucks and pipelines.
Storage
- Fossil - Big deposits with the capacity for a thousand m3 of gas.
- Renewable - Not applicable, energy injected directly in electrical grid, except biodiesel that is very similar to fossil-big deposits.
Operation Period
- Fossil - With a good maintenance and up-grades, will be operational for 50-75 years.
- Renewable - With a good maintenance, will be operational for 20-25 years.
